In an event like the World Cup, and Olympics, how a team performs in a way reflects its national character/spirit/state of the mind. I used "German tanks" as a metaphor to show their ruthlessness and discipline in the pursuit of their goals, which is akin to their behaviour in other areas.

Thats true. I saw nothing from the Argentina team this year that impressed me much. I expected far more from them. And it is like Christiano Ronaldo in Portugal, Neymar in brasil and Messi in Argentina - one man alone can not make a difference if the rest of the team is just mediocre.

Germany are a good team but Brasil made them look like world beaters which they are not, they are a well drilled unit but certainly beatable. I go back to the french game against germany and look what happened the french left it until 70 minutes to attack them and should have won pierre will know this himself having watched it. There is nothing more annoying than when your team does that, ive always believed play to your strengths and if that means attack you do it. Of course True not one man can make a team but one man can produce a bit of magic and win a game like a messi free kick. I can see Germany winning it 2-1 mainly because they know how to win and if they keep Messi quiet it should be a formality.
