"Why are the security interests of some countries taken into account, but not Russia's?"
I agree on that but at same time after the cold war it seems a bit logic that poland, CZ HU etc ... prefer goes to NATO that think maybe the ex USSR could be back ... No ???
PW
No!
Then why don't you kick the US military out of Western Europe?
Because you're fine with everything. You're fine with the US providing your security, and you don't have to spend money on it.
The current world order was formed after the end of World War II and its outcome. Europe, willingly or unwillingly, helped Hitler in his aggressive actions. It was divided into spheres of influence among the victors of World War II.
International law was formed with the emergence of the UN.
The NATO bloc was a counterweight to the Warsaw Pact bloc in a bipolar world. The USSR and Russia voluntarily withdrew their troops from Eastern Europe and dissolved the Warsaw Pact. So let's bring everything back?
Orbán is no fool; he understands where all this could lead. You'd better listen to him, because Russia, as the successor to the USSR, may also have many legitimate claims, and you won't like them! Hungary fought on Hitler's side. Do you think Russia might have claims against Hungary? The USSR invested huge amounts of money in the reconstruction of Eastern Europe, just as the US did in Western Europe under the Marshall Plan. When the USSR withdrew from Eastern Europe, it left all its property and infrastructure to the countries of Eastern Europe. Whether anyone liked this world order or not is irrelevant now. Small countries did not have a full say in whether they should join NATO or not. The decision was made for them! And getting a political decision in such countries, even under the guise of popular approval, is not a big problem. Europe is now quarreling with the US under Trump, and there is already talk of getting rid of US "tutelage." The same thing happened in Eastern European countries. Therefore, this is not a global problem. What is becoming a global problem is the failure to take into account the interests of other participants in global relations in a multipolar world.
The main problem is that you cannot understand that the unipolar world no longer exists! You have always been guided solely by your own interests and promoted them, while disregarding the interests of others. Back in 2007, at the Munich Security Conference, Putin warned you that all this would end badly. But you did not care. Why do you believe that your claims and interests are justified, while Russia's claims and interests are not?
Now we see the result of all this. Europe will find itself isolated with its arrogance and phantom pains of former greatness, but real powerlessness, and instead of seeking consensus between two millstones, you are sticking your neck out without any real chance of success, putting the world and, above all, yourself in danger.
