Working as an actress in a professional video is a regular job with normally professionals involved in the process and normally you can ask for relevant health test.

Working as an Escort is far more risky. Normally you know nothing about your next customer, can be a total nutcase or a pervert or whatever, and normally, as you likely know, the customer has not to provide a valid health check to the girl.

So there is a slight difference, I hope I kept it simple enough for you

Of course they escort for the money, but my question is why so many actresses - it looks as a firm majority - end in the escort business. It looks as if it is a standard or common career step. Is it because they already crossed an emotional border or if they are introduced to this business by other actors/actresses/producers? Or is it simething else? What is your opinion, since you are so outspoken that you dislike this part of the business?

appears to be a quite simple evolution when doing Porn:

1) Starting porn and getting used to have sex for money with a lot of different partners.

2) When no porn jobs are available adding escort work to have a kind of steady income flow, again this is sex for money with different partners.

I guess escort work beats a minimum wage job in terms of additional income most of the time...

I am guessing the obvious reason is lots of money and interesting life with lot of sex. One thing I have seen, once a woman does escorting, she always falls back to me. She may stop for a while, do other things but this remains a "hobby" always.
