Re: The French
French have always been reknown to be pretty ˝ rude ˝people.
My travel in eastearn countries just confirmed it.

Re: The French
i allways said the same about frenchmen! rude, arrogant and not able to speak just a word in an other language! but then i've been to prevence/marseille!!! everybody spoke a good english (even the arabic woman from a small bakery) the people were very nice and open.
so my opinion from then is: not all french are "assholes"

Re: The French
Slowly Booz, slowly !!!
If you start to speak like that this debat will take a wrong angular ... even if I must said that more and more often when I travel and I go somewhere with Sophie, we listen : "oh you're so different of the french group you can see at the border of the swimming pool, there are so arrogant and agressive but not you " and then I want tell : " sorry it's not a representation of France madame, it's a part of the 93" but of course I shut my mouth because there is nothing to do.
Two years ago in Thailand we was in a restaurant in Phuket and I really had the feeling I was in the Paris suburbs, I went to restroom for 2 minutes and when back, Sophie was so angry, because the group of "french" went to her as if they wanted speak and had stolen her Iphone !!!
So yes some travelers supposed to be"French" are bad people today worldwide and it's a shame ...

Re: The French
The bad reputation of french people (not french tourists, french in their country) is from way before the massive imigration. It's been since the second world war that we're seen as a an arrogant, unwelcoming and unsmiling bunch.
Part is justified, part isn't.
I just came back from Thailand. I did Bangkok, the south, the islands (Koh Samui, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Pangan etc.). The more touristic the place was, the less smiling the people were, as they're probably sickened by the behaviour of tourists. The worst was Phuket (I live in Aubervilliers, Seine Saint Denis, and I felt like I was still there except they were beachs). I saw some bad behaviour from tourists but it wasn't only the french, russians and americans were sometimes very arrogant with Thai people.

Re: The French
Il y a quand meme une différence entre quelqu'un de désagréable, et quelqu'un de potentiellement dangereux. C'est pas les garçons de café parisiens qui font que mes amies ont peur de rentrer seules chez elles à pieds.
