In October 1985 in Paris I saw Gorbachev and was thinking he was a fucking dictator. In 1988 I went to Russia for the first time and was in shock to see how it was crazy securised, with a control at the entrance of my hotel, then entrance of the lift then on my floor with a man stand up with a Kalashnikov near another one controling me again and finally I was able access to my bedroom !!! I was sad to see people making the queue for hours front of the shop but I was surprise NOT see any homeless in the street and also that everyone I was crossing in the street seemed happy and told me their president was very "liberal" !!! it was a huge contrast with the idea I had from the French TV report showing an image of desesperation of this country. I came back in 1991 and started do some casting and shoot porn there in 1992 !!! All was so different, the country was supposed be FREE but in fact there was still the same 2 guys at each floor of my hotel but only one control at the entrance in the street and at exit of the lift with these 2 men ( one with a gun one at the desk ). But in the street it was finish the queue front of the shop for a steak !!! So at first view all was better but I remember a man without legs came to me inside a wood box with weels and his hands were in blood. He was begging me for money. I gave him a bill and he was crying, then I said my translator : "strange I see a lot of homeless now, why not when it was the hard time and everywhere now that youhave been liberated ???
Then she told me "because this freedom is just the begining of the hell and it will go more and more because before everyone was the same, there was no rich no poor, everybody had a steak in his plate every day. I have never forgot this moment because that day I realise that all my ideas about this country was just all wrong and the truth was the opposite of what I was watching on TV.
In 2010 when I went for first time in China I was also in shock to see everyone looking so happy everywhere in the street. All look so peaceful and people are so kind. Nothing to do with south Korea for instance where I was in shock to see how people are rude and impolite in the street, treating you really like a shit. Seoul is one of my worst souvenir of travel !!!

Good idea and I agree with you 100% . And I wil take a break from the general forum for a while and enjoy your great work unless Im spoken to as I am recovering from surgery and using energy on this is useless. Cheers
