Do you know that is you follow strictly everything said in the bible and said by the church you are only allowed to have sex 53 days per year, and only missionary style ? You know, back a few hundred years ago people believed so much that fucking was a sin that they blamed on having sex on forbidden days for the birth accidents or congenital disorders. Just an example. Now we have some science to explain it, but there's still silly beliefs like that around.

Sounds absurd and stupid right ? And yes it is. Believe in what you want, jesus, the mighty norse gods, the greek pantheon, a great bearded maker, a pink chimpanzee or whatever. But you have to follow your heart, not idiotic things invented by men to piss off people because of their own sexual culpability.

Respect yourself and respect your sexual partners, that's the single and only rule in the world that matters. I couldn't stress that enough. Pierre is in an happy couple with a lady that doen't care about him nailing everything, he respects her and she respects him, and they are fine that way. Married or not makes no difference. Probably much more happy than couple building lies around them...

Don't take my comment too hard Adrian, you seem like a nice guy and all, and i do respect spirituality and freedom of faith. But please, don't make that huge mistake to mix religious beliefs with philosophy and morality. Its simply very wrong on so many levels that thinking about it starts to bring my brain cells to a boil.

Actually, the crimes commited by the Inquisition have been vastly exagerated. It was probably closer to a few dozens of thousands of people who died during the few centuries that is last and some consider that the Inquisition might have been less violent and obscure that the secular justice of the time. Of course that's not counting the millions native americans that died mostly from diseases, but were they victim of the inquisition or of the spanish and portuguese royalties that wanted to expand their influence ?

Concerning the question of the flatness of the earth, it has never been a theory defended by the church. In fact, it was admitted that the earth was round from the greek times. What was defended by the church was heliocentrism (the earth being the center of the Universe). And even the Galileo affair was mainly due to Galileo attacking the Pope and making fun of him, not the theory itself (which was not his anyway). His theory was actualy slowly being accepted by the high hierarchy of the church which is normal since they were generally the most educated.

Oh and there is no indication that he ever said: "et pourtant elle tourne !"
