There is thousand of stories around it but in france the final episod with the Cathare is also sympathetic ! They did 2000 fires and put everybody inside men, womens and childrens and the "organisator" said : "burn all of them, god will recognise is lamb"
Cool no ? and we have a lot of nice souvenir like that is our history... so let the religions far from us please, we just do sex and in the "gode" ( dildo in french ) we trust !!!

Re: Pierre do you know it's a sin?
Not really. the Azteques were essentially victims of the politic of expansion of the secular regimes of the time (ie the royalties of Spain and Portugal). And like I said before, if it's true that millions of native americans died, it was essentially due to the diseases they weren't immuned to. Those who died by violence were only a fraction. And note that the Azteques were themselves oppressing many other populations of the region and that the military conquest of the spanish was mostly due to their hability to make alliances with thoses rebel populations (Cortez conquereed the Aztec Empire with less than 500 men).PIERRE WOODMAN wrote: Viktor666, I just come back from Mexico and as you know the Azteques have been exterminated by the Spanish inquisition !
Like the south american conquest, the Cathare Crusade was as much due to religion than to the will of the local chiefs (and the king of France) to conquer the Languedoc regions (I'm not saying that the Inquisition didn't exist). Concerning the 2000 fires, you're probably refering to the battle of the castle of Montségur were the number of cathares burned (men and women, no kids) was in fact 200. The sentence "Brulez les tous et Dieu reconnaitra les siens" was not supposed to have been pronounced at Montségur but during the Bezier siege. And I say supposed, because most historical references indicate that Arnaud Amaury, the Archbishop of Narbonne chosen by the Pope to lead the Albigensian Crusade never said this sentence. But I reckon, it sounds good...There is thousand of stories around it but in france the final episod with the Cathare is also sympathetic ! Most of them were invented by the anti-clericalists movements of the 18/19th century.Cool no ? and we have a lot of nice souvenir like that is our history...

If you dont mind can you please tell me Viktor666 if the Bible is fiction or real? Based on known facts of course.viktor666 wrote:Not really. the Azteques were essentially victims of the politic of expansion of the secular regimes of the time (ie the royalties of Spain and Portugal). Re: Pierre do you know it's a sin?
I wont enter in details there, but the bible is a mix of a few historical characters in their historical context, and everything else is built on myths and legends and written by a lot of people.
Name one for the example : Jesus. Jesus did indeed exist, most of the information we have about him is in the gospels so its rather hazardous since the gospels are only made for religious teaching. We know is that Jesus was a jewish teacher, healer and exorcist, somewhat of a philosopher and that he had a few disciples following him. His popularity growed to the point it became a problem and he got executed by the romans. Everything after, the resurrection, him being the son of god, the apocalype and everything is only based one pure faith. Its not very different from how sects or cults goes today, the difference being today we have a much bigger knowledge of the world so we see that in a very pejorative way.
If today you met a fellah wo was telling everyone in the street they could rise from the dead and go through walls and walk on the water you would laugh at his face. But someway make that believe to ignorant people 2000 years ago and you got yourself quite a powerfull force there, which only grows on and on to the present day.
Funny thing is that christianity if not less silly than greek, norse or roman mythology or any past religion. The only difference is that these are not believed by anyone today. There was time were people in scandinavia would believe the world will end when a giant wolf will eat it. If I say today that I believe in that, people will call me crazy because I will be the only one to believe that. If I say the world will end with winged dudes blowing into a trumpet and the coming of a gigantic dragon destroying everything and jesus coming back to save the day, I m not crazy, I m a christian. Yay. The only differences there are in all the past religions people would completly laugh at now and actual ones is their present popularity.
So since it so widely popular and yet silly, how people do arrange themselves with that kind of stuff today ? By saying "its not litteral, its metaphoric !". Yeah, of course.

Yes of course i find it hard to believe as well all those "magical" things written in the Bible, then what is your opinion how one should live? I am not judging what Pierre does, all i did was asking a question, but then what married for then if you engage in multiple sexual encounters outside it? I can understand animals can be polygamous but they dont know marriage per se.
