That's wrong. It is not a tradition, Sarkozy and Hollande did that only 1 time when there were president.
France is a secularised regime, that means the state should not show any preference for any religion. It is an heritage of the French revolution and it is not a bad as our country suffered a lot because of the religious wars.

Macron does a lot of bad things (all former French president). No need to make a fake news again him.

I don't think it would've "choked" peoples who are not into christianism that Macron just take 2 mins to wish "merry christmas" this year, otherwise what is the next step ? People in the street who will do "bad things" if they do christmas tree/christmas market ? Sorry, i just think it's a "cold" society like this.

I would be chocked to see a president playing the role of Santa Claus instead to make the country better (more jobs, better salaries, less taxes and better public service).

Roooooooooh come on man, as you said, he already did so many mistakes (500,000 euros into the elysée dish, Benalla, ect ect ect) so it's not 2 mins into Santa Claus that will cause the country to explode, where is your "child-soul" Booz ?

Problem now all gouvernment are just "ass wiper" to please religions but they piss on the laicity and it's bad.
When I see it not OK to said anymore "le marché de Noël" ( Christmas Market ) but must be said "Marché d'hiver" ( Winter Market ) to not make all muslims feel bad, I wonder if anyone in Ryad or Cairo will accept to change the name of a millenary tradition in their country to please the copte community !!!

Ils commencent même à supprimer les sapins de Noël dans certaine ville de Belgique pour "apaiser" les tensions !!! On croit rêver mais c'est pourtant un pure cauchemar bien réel. Et je dis ça alors que je suis athé, c'est dire à quel point ces gens qui nous gouvernent son capable de heurter le coeur de leur concitoyens de part leur actions stupides !!!

Sur le fond je suis déjà passé à autre chose. Je viens fêter la nouvelle année en France et j'ai passé la frontière il y a une heure.
Petit controle de nos amis douaniers au premier péage, deux flash et je viens juste de serrer la main à un gendarme sympa qui m'a laissé repartir sans me gratter pour 172 Km/h au lieu de 110.
Bon je m'en sors bien mais quand même j'ai fait 1300 Km sans aucun soucis de Budapest via la Slovenie et L'Italie ( ou j'ai bourré grave ) et évidement quand je reviens "a la maison" je dois me réadapter aux multiples désagréments habituels de notre pays.

Mais bon les paysages sont toujours beaux ... et j'ai la patate !!!
