Ah yes, the boyfriend appears to not want Abby to work with other men (though I see him show up with other women still). Too bad for us. If this is what Abby wants and he is not controlling her, we should accept it and enjoy what she gives us.

They're just trying to speculate based on what you say here. Rather than trying to make something more of your statement that there's something there but you don't want to say it, they should just accept your statement and leave it (though I must admit you do make me curious).
