ok, a lot of interesting and clever commentars. personally, i think that the next years will be still hard for porn producer, so we the fans will try to help Pierre survive for this critical period.
However, i see light at the end because as internet business gets more important for everyone there will be more regulation and that means in this case strenghtening of the rights of content producers. as JonnyD noted there is already a new bill discussed in US senate. the piracy problem is not only one of porn producers but of music, video industry as well and they will smash all their power to get tougher laws. and theses laws will soon or later apply for the whole world. but it can take easily 10 years to happen.

i find it funny that most porn studios shoot boring vanilla porn and say they shoot it because they don't have money to shoot anything else. of course no one buys those scenes as the same girls has shoot like 10 of those exactly same scenes with same angles so no point buying it. In my opinion if they want to make money they should shoot less and put the money in better scenes. Maybe people would actually buy them then. For example i would have some money to spend, but most of the stuff is so shit that it ain't worth buying.

For example there is this Russian quite well known porn studio that shoots quite hardcore stuff and they charge like 10-15 euros per scene. Their customer service is shit and the scenes are really expensive but the content is good and seems they are doing pretty well. Also it is quite hard to find their newer stuff on the internet too as they watermark each users download individually so people are scared to share it. Although some have leaked online where the buyer has supposedly used stolen credit cards.

Guys, you have such great points. I know so little about this, but it reading all your posts is enlightening.

Would it not help to simply not allow download of the videos? Just have all offered on the site, only? So many people store data online, now, anyway. I am sure there is still some way to pirate the videos, but it seems that this is something software could solve?

Thank you, Sir! Just that is what I am thinking, and I think this is the only method to fight against piracy! You are not just a good businessman, you are also very smart, that you understand what I have written (in contrast to JohnnyD).

I will tell you a little story, JohnnyD: I am also coder of some network related tools (similar to wireshark, tcpdump and fluke network software). You have no clue how many network administrator use my tools and don't pay me. There is nothing that I can do (and I will thanks all my customers who have bought my software). But you can also find my software on usenet, any File Hoster and so on.

So, there are two choices: Work for your loyal customers or go to long holidays. These two choices you have!

I love holidays !!! But since I am devoted to build up and develop the site, I take holidays only once a year !!! And anyway it was never 100% relax time because I have to be online every day ! But this time, also because I'm a bit sad of this year 2011 who has not brough all what I hope it will have been, I will pass the new year in a very far far far far far place where probabily internet will not be ...
