I agree with this !!! I was sad to see Swiatek loss and also see the public so much in extasy on Svitolina after she refused shake the hand of a Russian girl.
Most russians maybe even all russians champions are against this war and acting as Svitolina did is not a way to bring peace.
I don't remember where it was but I know once there was a hug between an Israelian and palestinian in a stadium.
Both said the war could not be inside the sport and they were right.
They nearly sanctionned Djokovic in Roland Garros for a comment about Kosovo and the WFT rule is clear about it but seems it doesn't work with Ukrainian champions.
I have respect for Svitolina courage and also her strengh just few months after giving birth but her way to reject anyone from Russia is a shame as it's a shame England doesn't show the nationality of Russian players.
All this it's like the war it's should not exist ...
