I can only agree with the others who said that France was already celebrating days before.

Messi is a pure genius, probably the best player in the world, but this "mission world cup for Argentina, for his palmares, for his life, for his égo, for palmares, ect ", got into too much into his head, you could see that his "humble aura, calm, easy going person" from his prime in Barca, totaly disapeared in the last 3 matchs of the worid cup, he was "nervous, on high horses, totaly obsessed on the cup, ect" , for me this "new aura King messi" make me feel a bit "distant", you can feel he's getting old and he fall into his own "image legend" that he tried so hard to "fight" in his prime, but i Guess, his 7 golds ballons + this new world cup, will only make him more "into the sky/above the ground", in his head, in this kind of attitude/aura, Michael Jordan, was better than him, always humble, Jordan, in Basket, was at another level than Messi for me, in term of "aura"

Pour moi, la coupe, lui à un peu trop "bouffé la tête", un peu comme Gollum, dans Lotr, s'est fait bouffé la tête par l'anneau de pouvoir, c'est exactement ça avec Messi selon moi, ceci dit, Spider, si çà peut te rassurer, il ne sera plus dans la prochaine coupe du monde, place aux jeunes !
