It's a good thread! In my opinion the early 90's to early 2000's was the best era of porn. When Pierre was with Private and even when he started making his films like Excalibur, perfectionist etc. These were among my favorites even still today. We started to see things like never before. Incredible costumes,to storylines and dialogue, to exotic locations with the best European girls!

If we are talking about aesthetics. For sure Pierre's earlier work and films have to be mentioned and really kickstarted the blockbuster films that Private started to make with massive budget films like Privates Millionaire and Billionaire series, or the Private Tropical series with Alessandro Del Mar, shot in some breath taking island locations around the world. Then Ettore Bucchi came with Magik View and started shooting on super yachts and cruise ships with star studded casts in early 2000s. After that, Private was never the same. If you look at the now, the only thing that has changed is the picture quality which has improved with 8K and so on which wasn't possible before, but in terms of quality of production, their movies today can never compare with the past. They've incorporated too much of Pornbox style. Boring, white backgrounds and all their scenes you can tell has their influence.

Then we have Dorcel with more night ambiance style with also focus on lingerie and DDF who also had a big focus on visuals and lingerie and pretty type porn'

Nowadays we don't get as much all of this because as Pierre, pirates has killed all and even the motivation to start again. Who wants to waste money to create a production film if pirates are gonna steal.

Jean the first picture is from "Pyramid" with 1,2 million dollars budget and 9 weeks shooting !!!
Second from "Fatal Orchid" with 320 000 dollars budget !!!

Today nobody can do this because the piracy doesn't give any chance to see the money back ... so yes low budget nowadays but not my fault, only the internet rude law and even the "laundery machine" of the net risk sometime to spent 10 or 15 000 dollars on a scene but less and less often now as I can see ...
I'm almost sure in 2030 there will be very rarely expensive shooting if nothing change on the net !!!

Aside from the piracy phenomenon, there's also the growing importance of amateur/semi-amateur content, with no budget, a shitty convertible sofa and no directing. Of course settings are sometimes gorgeous but it's a matter of location (when shot outdoors) and hotel room, not cinematography.

Porn follows the same fate as art in general. Look at the top musicians these days, mumbling rappers with no lyrics, all looking the same, immediately forgettable yet getting billions of views on youtube...

Yes, the budget is one thing, but there's no excuse for bad caméra angle and poor lighting, and we see this more and more nowadays, sometimes it's very difficult to see the pénétrations, and 4k or 8k, can't save a bad directing, with bad ideas. Hopefuly, you are still here, because your expérience is what miss the "new génération" !

in regards to technical quality I like currently Perverse Family
post444673.html#p444673

for sure is not looking cheap but regarding "aestetic" you could argue about :)

Would be curious to know if they really make a profit with this site......

with all the "free" porn on the internet it is for sure pretty hard to recover the costs for high quality expensive porn movies...

another angle is that maybe viewer expectations change over time, what older guys consider crappy could be for younger audiences perfectly fine ....
