As you see they had other productions in Budapest. They could be busy and forget. Who knows. Maybe they don't see your work as what they want. Sometimes instead to lie and hurt someone, people avoid situation which maybe is what they did. It's human nature. It's better to ask them what happened and why they didn't come and meet you. Did you have an official meeting or just a casual conversation? It's possible you have the wrong impression. You will never know for sure if you never ask. Maybe there is still opportunity to work with them.
