But this make me upset when politic and sport start be mixed !!! same like here when some guy mixte sex and politic ...

Sportives should not be impacted by decisions of any president of the world and now Wimbledon ask champions to sign a paper telling they don't support Putin. OK the guy can make it but then he will risk having problem later with his country and people there !!! It's unfair and sport should stay a neutral field in my opinion ...

Forget it, Pierre, the "official narrative talibans" will tell you, in absolute terms, that Russian athletes must either risk making themselves or their families pariahs in their own country or go find another job.

Its not like Putin and Russia does not mix politics with sports. Not many days ago in his propaganda show for the war he was parading olympic gold medalists....

Im not sure whats right in an individuel sport like tennis. I have no problems banning russian international teams from sports until this war is overt hough . I you go to a war like this you cant just say sports and politics should not be mixed an carry on pretending like women and children are not dying in Ukraine. It should cost russians that thet regime goes to war. That might put pressure on Putin.

This is exactly what I denie !!! It's a bit like if Macron tomorrow does a war and I am supposed be an asshole too because my passport write FRENCH !!!

Even, as I showed on another post, animals are supposed be banned from competition if they are Russians !!!
Can we do more stupid ???

I am sure most champions in all kind of sport disaprove the Putin politic and action in Ukrain but they need be the collateral damage of something they have nothing to do with !!!
Why nobody never blocked the USA champion when Bush decided to attack Irak and kill 1 million people ???
Why now million of people in Africa, having nothing to do with the war but having their lives depending from Russian wheat will be without food and ready to die soon without nobody in occident care about ???

Honestly occident is so hypocrit that I wish more and more retired on a desert island far from all this mess ...

Sport is a game and should be always considered has an entertainment not a politic tools between the hands of those who try make the world with the color they want it to have !!!

I read today that Ukrainian athlete Vladyslav Heraskevytsj who protested in the olympics with a no war in ukraine poster says its important that russian athletes are banned now.

War is cleary against the values of sports and the olympic charter , russia is actively using their atheltes in propaganda for the war he says and he also mentioned that some athletes like cross country skier Bolsjunov was promoted in his rank in the millitary because of his sucess in the olympics. The same army that attacks Ukraine now. So its absurd to say that Russia does not mix sports with politics .

If USA attacsk Canada tomorrow american athletes should be banned aswell ....

If you want to compare a democratic country like Ukraine to the talibans of Afgahnistan or Husseins Irak I dont know what to say. Anyways I protested the war in Irak and would have no problems banning american atheletes at the time.

I am the first to say the war should be stopped, but ban sport players only because they represent Russia is another thing, since removing means giving the win to someone else or money to another location.
The russian national team was suspended, and Poland advanced to the final of the play-offs for the World Cup on a walkover, while Ukraine's match was postponed.
This obviously has given advantage to Poland which passed without even playing, while Scotland could be affected in a positive or a negative way by playing 3 months later.
UEFA confirmed they would remove Saint Petersburg as the host for the final of Champions League 2022 in behalf of Saint-Denis, which means money for France.

Mother nature put under our eyes every day how it's neccessary to behave to survive !!! Sadly humans are stupid enough to always try manage things in order serves "someone" interest without think about the collateral damages ...
All "arabians spring" have only brought desesperation and chaos but who was at the command behind ... the same who want today set up the peace in Ukrain with only put oil on fire as they did for the last 50 years woldwide.

I can bet with you Putin will get what he wants with Ukrain, a neutral country but partially destroyed at the end like Syria, and we will have a cold war situation again because Biden dream of that ( USA was the center of the world before 1989 ) and the puppet called "the 27" will have a great economic chaos in a year.

I wish be wrong ... but anyway it's not the ban of athletes from Russia who will change the situation in Ukrain and save the country.

So please now let speak ONLY about sport here !!!
