Yes I was there and he got a standing ovation but even if the film is very interresting I was surprised that they didn't mention the fact that Douglas stay 14 secondes on the ground in Tokyo. How can someone do a movie about Mike without speak about that.
Except this it's very interresting and you're near to cry. My only problem was the fact that later I was in a place with him and I found out someone else than what I thought. I'm sad to said he's not what I always dream he was, a bit like if you was coming with me in production and you find out I was gay all my life, you'll be disapointed I'm sure.
I get that feeling that he's more an animal than a human, maybe because of is rude life I don't know but anyway now I'm not so sure about the story of the Desiré rape...

Yes I saw also a recent interview from last year with Mike in his home,
and he come off almost like a "zombie".. He talked in slowmotion
entire interview, and he seemed somewhere else in his mind the whole time..
It was sad to see such a great champion in that condition

I agree with everything you said, Pierre...
Even though Mike didn't get the W against Buster Douglas, he still won that fight(slowest count I ever seen!!!)
Mike is one of the greatest boxers who ever lived... And like so many of the greats before him, he seems to have trouble dealing with life outside the ring(for many reasons)....Personally, I don't think he was ever the same after Cus D'Amato died...
He pretty much went down hill from there.....But I guess even if Cus lived 10 more years, I don't think this would've changed the way his life has turned out... It might have delayed his downfall by 10 years, but ultimately it wouldn't have changed anything... This man seemed destined to end up in a bad place....and that's very sad!!! There are so many sad stories when it comes to boxing....
On a ligher note.... Pierre, you have met many celebrities and prominent people in your day, people you look up to and admire.... Has anyone lived up to or even exceeded your expectations? Do you have a favourite story? I know what you're thinking... I'm like the Culkin kid from "Uncle Buck" who asks to many questions!!!
