While I actually like it, apparently the Drauzio Varela quote is a hoax, according to the Austrian myth-and-fakes-debunking platform mimikama.

First, he apparently never won the Nobel prize in Medicine, which is not claimed in his Portuguese wikipedia article either, and second he denies having said what is quoted in a Brazilian interview:

Há cerca de três meses, Varella concedeu uma entrevista a uma rádio da Espanha. O locutor o apresentou recitando a seguinte frase, atribuída ao médico: „No mundo atual está se investindo cinco vezes mais em remédios para virilidade masculina e silicone para mulheres do que na cura do mal de Alzheimer. Daqui a alguns anos teremos velhas de seios grandes e velhos de pinto duro, mas que não se lembrarão para que servem.“

Varella teve que esclarecer no ar que não é o autor. „Não tenho a menor ideia de quanto se investe na cura do Alzheimer. E jamais falaria uma grosseria dessas. Nem no botequim.“

(The last paragraph translates as: Varela had to clarify in the interview, that he is not the author [of that quote]. „I have not the slightest idea, how much is spent on Alzheimer research. And I would never say such an impoliteness. Not even in a bar.”

Whatever if it's was him or not, I love so much this sentence for her realistic projection on the future !!!

I know and I wrote myself that I really consider it a great and hilarious quote, yet I think it doesn't hurt to know who said it and who didn't
This is also true e.g. for the dozens of Einstein quotes, that are mostly misattributed etc.

That is a great video. Did you notice that almost everyone looked for a camera that could be watching them? People still remember the Soviet Union.

I wish a prankster would put a giant picture of President Trump in an elevator in New York City. And a camera like he did. I would bet that the picture would not last very long.

It would be interesting to know what they were saying.
