Cause they don't want to. But you can't forced people to give their money. Hospital, food for poors, that's a problem the state must solve. If some people want to help, they do, if they don't want to... well, it's their problem!

I'm pretty sure, about Notre Dame, if there were right now only 10 millions of donation, people would say "they're full of money! Why do the rich don't give some for Notre Dame?!"... but they gave money, and they're criticized...

you are the same guy that would have said one thousand years ago: why do the rich clergy and nobility build this expensive church and not give their money to the poor, school, hospital.

They do what they want, but you can't force me to have respect or applaudise their donations when there's much more important to solve arount the world. No matter what, it's only stone, and state solve nothing, it's been 7 months poor french citizen get in manifestation, they got 90 euros added on salary but that will be burn in the new food taxe/electricity taxe, ect, so when we see 1 billions reached in 2 days, from almost all friends of french president, we can also evaluate the values of priorities.

To finish, as i said, we can prey at home, to god it's the same, but it's less attractive for tourists that will spend 9 euros for a expresso in some hotel, ect.

But we're not speaking about a lambda church. I'm not a believer, but Notre Dame is a part of our History, not just a place to prey God...

Anyway I agree that Notre Dame is not only "old stones" but our history and it has to be renoved at his best !!!
It's Victor Hugo who is the responsible of the huge renovation in 19th century after he wrote the story of Esmeralda and Quasimodo. Without that it will have already disappeared 150 years ago.
I understand that all this money people are giving makes the person in need to be shocked but many forget also that it is the most visited monument of the world and the money income it brings every year is supposed help the community ...
It's unfair to critic Pinault and Arnault for their donations, they already do a lot in silence but it's always the same story, they get more stones on the head for what they do then if they did nothing ...
The gilets jaunes have destroyed the country and the cost is 10 times more than all donation for Notre Dame, plus so many lost their job. Who will paid for that ???
My father 84 years old and of course all people who have the less of money. So the french are just able to pretend change thing for a better but in fact it's more and more the chaos.
Sadly Notre Dame in fire is not only the fatality it's a symbol of what was before and after ...

I feel 2024 will be my best year ever !!!

Big part of the damage have been made by youngs "casseurs" from seine-saint-denis touchings RSA or dealings shit in their cité and using gilets jaune mouvement for the fun, it's in all rapport of polices, it must be not confonded with gilets-jaunes, who have true revandications.

Olds retraités are much more a part of ours history, stones don't talk, olds people transmit knowledges to childrens, spécific "dialect" from their origin regions, it's not "notre-dame" who do that, but it's retraité who have to live with 900 euros and manage to survive with taxes, "notre-dame" must only be pretty to be photographed by chineses, that's it.

I agree. To admit, I am not religious type. And I don't like seeing these churches and mosques. It's all made to enslave people. But Notre Dame is like landmark of Paris. Like Eifel Tower.
