I am an investor and I want to invest in the adult industry either alone or with partners. So far I have received random opinions and nothing concrete. I have some questions and I kindly seek your advice.

The content I wish to produce is a mix of solo, gg, bg, bgg and the quality and type of erotica mostly resembling that of wow girls, x art and some gonzo style maybe.

Through my source of income and after taxes I can put in up to $40000 per month for the studio.

How much can be done with such capital. Is it sufficient or not enough?

How much content can I get out of it after including all production costs, such as staff wages, editing, location and travel costs.

For a studio to be successful how many scenes needs to produced ?

How to reach the products in the hands of the viewers ? Sell DVDs and online through a publisher ? Sell through an owned site ? Any other ways ?

There are enough studios for models, but what about directors, cameraman and assistants. Where and how to locate them for example in Budapest ?

Finally from a business perspective how do you compare between North America and Europe.

I can't really help you, today this industry has been destroyed by piracy and anyone trying to invest money inside without been "someone" already known in the world, is taking a big risk.
I suggest you to keep your 40 K/month and every 5 months to buy an appartment at 200 K in the place where you have tourist. Put it on AirBandB and you'll get back your investment in 6 to 12 years + getting profit till your death.
To get back 2000 euros of one very simple and cheap video cost with a 20 % profit after you paid all your website extra fees , you need 180 membership. You need at least 12 videos/months to attrack people so we can said you must invest a minimum of 25 K but at the end you will need at least 60 K to paid all and if you want your 20 % it's 72 K you must get back.
So more or less 2500 members ! Myself with my name it has taken me 18 months to get this amount of members ... and today after 7 years I have exactly 6800 which is some months not enough to paid all, even if, by luck, I am still positive in numbers at the end of every year. Without the support of the loyal people loving my work since long time, this site will be closed since 2011 ( the year I decided to put moving logos, and "to be continued", cuting some videos in two or three parts, etc ... which have been one one the things which have saved the site.
So seriously, if you wanna invest, trust me, porn is the wrong place, except if you can invest 2 or 3 millions fast and lost 1 or 2 more before doing profit ... and even like that not sure it will be succesfull after 10 years !!!
If I haven't my fame and fans support, I will have disppeared since long time ...

Using the money in brothels to make a name for yourself as a (super)stud (like Pierre and Rocco etc), and/or setting up a piracy website, seem to be the investment decisions made by some smart(ass) investors in porn industry as it goes nowadays, albeit an immoral and even an illegal one.

You are absolutely right. Small movie theaters could not compete with the big theater chains in the malls, so they started playing "Art" films. Mostly foreign language films from Italy and France. Then, after 1970 they started showing porno films, to increase their business.
But business was slow, because nobody wanted to be seen going into or out of the theater.
Video tape recorders (VTR) in Betamax and later VHS format allowed people to see porn in the privacy of their own home, without going out. It is what made the VTR market flourish. Hollywood resisted putting their movies on tape, but finally did. Beta was better, but not long enough for a full length movie, so VHS won the format war.
America used the NTSC TV format, and Europe used the PAL format, which had better quality.
In 1998 DVD came on the market, and by 2008, it surpassed VHS as the format to use.

But what "killed" the video stores, and the big budget porn movies was the internet, and the "pirates" of copyrighted material. That has ben covered at lenght in another topic.

But internet could have been paradise if government was shut down the tube and P2P.
It will be also good for customers but they refuse to understand it ...
I'm not a zoo sex movies fan, but already this sector is dead and nobody produce anymore animals movies. Porn owner of tubes will continued to produce "content" yes but what kind of ??? The cheapest of the cheapest without any creativity for rentability.

Yes in summary the industry is fucked....(mind the pun). Too many people wanting to look for free, it is unsustainable at the moment, don't worry government won't try to fix the problem either. We live in a hypocrite world !

I understand you completely, but i don´t think, the western governments will put piracy down, even if they could. Neither in France / Germany nor in the United States! They just don´t dare to criminalise addtional (peaceful) citizens, they have enough serious problems, especially in Europe. You know what´s going on in terms of so-called refugees. In some areas, Justice and public security have broke down already, i don´t think, in addition, police will go after penniless and harmlessly porn-tube-users. I don´t want to whitewash them, but i just don´t think, western governments dare to criminalise citizens. You have to imagine, this would concern politicians, lawyers, judges and celebrieties personally?! Never, no way!
