I'm German and I think that legalising prostitution like in Germany or in the Netherlands is much better than making it illegal. The prostitutes in Germany tend to be regularly -- weekly basis many of them (depends where they work) -- health checked and are therefore much cleaner and healthier than non-sex workers. Also it takes the criminality out of it...

German government makes billions a year from the tax that prostitutes pay to them. It is safe and legal fun and profitable. Why change it? (The issue of human trafficking is a separate one and of course should be tackled...) Germany has become the sex tourism country of choice and it is much safer and cleaner than any other country famous for sex tourism (Switzerland is too but twice as expensive!)

I don't think the Swedish model is going to last much longer as it just drives people to go underground or to other countries (like Germany!)
