in 1997 I made a short visit to the "Private"-Ship during the "Sex-Siege" filming operations.
You were also on the ship with the magnificient Tania Russof and told me about your new Project in Egypt "Pyramides".

On board of the "Private"-Vessel a little shop was inside with mags and vids. As selling agent was this pretty woman, I think she was from Sweden. Do you remember her?

It was 1996 not 97 !!!
And I did a jump to Cannes yes for the festival with Tania and a part of my team during the shooting of Pyramid ( May and June 1996 )
I do not remember who was this lady, sorry ...

1996,Uuups, a mistake from me!
Nethertheless a long,long time ago.
Let me say some remarks about the ship in Cannes.
They get no permission to anchor the ship at the Cannes Habour as I heard.
So everyday at fixed times. a tendership left the old habour with peoples on board
to bring they to the vessel on the sea and return to the habour.
Here a souvenir pic , so forum-members could see from what ship we are talking about.

Yes it was 131 meters long and too huge for the harbour. So many mistakes from Berth Milton huge ego have made this amazing boat finaly "The Raft of the Medusa" !!!
First of all the oversize to entrance Cannes harbour. In fact he had proposed me at the end of 95 to go with him in Genova watch the boats and do this movie but it was one month before I shoot Capetown + Kruger Park. So I refused nicely and adviced him that a boat is not a joke and considering how often it was hard to keep people one simple day on a ship I didn't want imagine 5 weeks ...
When in February I presented him my project about "The Pyramid" with already the Tania's face as Pharaon, he just laugh and in front of her said " are you crazy, Tania is a very bad marketing product", do something else and without her. Then he showed me the boat picture and said that having refused been the director of "Operation Sex Siege" will be the biggest mistake of my career.
I told him he will never get the possibility to "park" this monster inside the arbour but he said me " you're so stupid, I will spend 5 M$ but all Japaneses at Carlton will see it from their bedrooms and will bought it for 20 M$"
In fact the final story became worst has I even imagined, I was right about parking but even if no one Japanese or Arabian dreamed to buy this boat, it has been one of the best advertising in all Cannes history. It's the ONLY positive point of this production !!!
After Cannes they went to Barcelona but the city refused them to let all the different nationalities ( many of the girls needed visas ) and finaly nobody was allowed to go on the ground. The water and the food started to miss on board. The team and performers almost wanted kill each others and then they try Portugal with same answer so they had to go back to Geneva harbour in very despite situation.
It was really "The Raft of the Medusa" and later 2 hungarian girls took a lawyer and attacked Private about not giving them food and water on the trip. They won a lot of money after Berth Milton prayed for a settlement !!!
The movie directed by Nick Cramer was one of the second big budget campaign after "the Pyramid" but the DVDs sales was far from Private expectations ...
In one word, all this story has been : A DISASTER ( the third of a long list ) !!!

But you mean the Habor of Genova /Genua in Italy. I remember the Ship was painted to "Private" in La Spezia.

Private did something similar a few years back, when they booked a big cruise ship loaded it with porno people and shot many gonzo films there over few weeks i think.

Well, if I wanted be bad I will have a lot to tell about this part but I will not !!!
Nothing to compare with the 1996 production which was 50 times more impressive, expensive and will stay for ever in mind of people who were in Cannes at this time ...

When I see the picture of the cruise ship, it reminds me how big Private Media was at one point, all since lost

had the Private-Group planned worldwide releases in public-cinemas-x ?
The BTS of that movie shows 16 or 35mm filmcameras instead of video.
The format 16:9 was unusal at that time for videos only.
