You forget I'm always travelling and I have to upload mostly in the year from the hotel place where I stay and 90 % of the hotel today have restricted upload possibilities which makes my life difficult !!!
If the new MacBookPro is "old material", well I wonder what is new and at home I have not taken yet the latest Macpro yet because my "old" 12 heart 64 GB Ram from 2012 which has cost me 12 000 euros is still not a dead machine and works well ( I prefer spend 10 K today on pussies than computers ) !!!

YOur machine is up tu date but working the 'old' way is buying a big machine
because you need power just like before you had a machine for every cpu in cies.
tooday people get one screen,keyboard,mouse and that's it working on a virtual desktop.there is only one big server storing everything on the cloud.

it is especially relevant for people travelling a lot.
what you need is a virtual computer where you store your apps like editing software and so on and cloud storing where your files are located.
then uploading is no longer an issue.as long as your internet connection is fine
you can access your virtual computer to edit your videos and then encoding,uploading is done in minutes between the encoding server and your web server.
you have some kind of solutions like runabove from OVH
they are french so you can call and tell your needs they will tell you what is suited
for you.
You can also use a solutions like logmein pro to access your webserver,computers
remotely from whereever you are.you just need an internet connection to access
them and work on them remotely.this solution today is very stable and used
in most cies when you need to travel both for security reasons and usability.

You tell it yourself !!! And once again I try to explain you my biggest lost of time is the EDITING, but not because of the machine but simply the editing part. And this I'm the only one who can make it ... This is the main problem, the export are always OK in 95% of the case ( I must restart when I do mistakes ) and the upload are always OK in 80% of the case ( sometime my internet is terrible and madly slow with 10 or 20 K/s in some place ...
( Especialy in France !!! )

you need a 150ko/200ko connection from your hotel to connect ,lets us say, your home computer remotely and working on it.
The files stays on your home computer.
when edited the files will be sent from your home computer to your websiteserver.
Your hotel connection
is no longer an issue ,given it is good enough(150ko/200ko) to let you access
your home computer,because the upload will be done from your home computer not your hotel plus you can travel lite with a simple laptop!

the most famous are RealVNC,TeamViewer
and you can use them for free.

The Cloud is the solution ? OK but then how do I send on it my 500 GB of content I just did in June ???

And more problematic, the 4 K for instance has some strange new codec inside that until now ONLY ONE product has accepted to upload my original content. Probabily it's just actual problem and will be resolved soon but I'm not sure the Cloud will take it too ...

the best thing to do is to begin small and try things step by step to see what
is better suited to your working habits and not being stuck with an oversized
expensive solutions.

i am just telling you what is possible then it is up to you to try and see how things works and what is suited to your habits.
i do not know all the workflow of your content editing,streaming so it is impossible
to give specific advices.
First just put 2 cpu side by side connected on the internet and use a vnc(it is free like http://www.realvnc.com/)
to take the control of one with the other and try working on it then you will
see how it works and what i mean.

if you want a 100% cloud solutions ,the optimal solutions is fiber optic,
in france you can get a 200Mbits ie 25Mo/s upload rate for 50 bucks with orange.
