Putin is smart and very crafty in what he is doing in the Crimea. 4 out of every 5 people there identify with Russia. There will be no conflict. Obama is an amateur and in, way over his head in foreign matters. The US is going to give $1,000,000,000 ( one billion) to the Ukraine to help them pay off their debt. The Ukraine is nearly bankrupt. Who do they owe most of the money to? Russia. Putin is laughing all the way to the bank.

You are right George. It is funny to think that the financial help E.U. and USA will send to Ukraine will be use to pay Gazprom (minus at least 20% which will go directly to the swiss bank account of the Ukrainians politicians)

I had to logout and then Google gazprom to find out what it is. What was on the news last night was data showing how much the various European countries depend on Russian oil and gas. European leaders are not stupid. They will not do anything to jeopardize their country's energy supply.
