Budapest vacation: Where to go??
Budapest vacation: Where to go??
Greetings from Norway.
I will travel to Budapest this summer. Never been there.
Where to go to meet some interesting women?
Any recommendable places?

Re: Budapest vacation: Where to go??
It's a great place to visit but beware of the the street scams. I got scammed there "big time" and avoided another attempt. I'm confident you will get targeted, too. Here's my story:
No doubt, you'll walk down the Vaci Utsa street. It's kind of like their version of Park Avenue or Rodeo Drive. You'll see gorgeous, young girls, kind of walking around, giving you inviting eye contact and all of them speak great English. Well, sooner or later, you'll strike up a conversation because you'll be curious if they're "available". Of course, they will give you the impression that they are and suggest you buy them a drink to talk. Well, whatever you do....DON'T DO IT!!! It's a trap and I speak from experience. I took the bait and decided to buy two girls a drink (1st mistake). Of course, I didn't know which restaurant or bar to go to, so I let them choose (2nd mistake). They led me into a nice dark restaurant and a quiet booth in the back. They both order Cognac, the most expensive ones in the place, of course. Then they order another and a small dessert. I drink a beer. About an hour goes by and nothing seems to be developing as I'd hoped so I asked for the check to pay and leave. Of course, by now all of you have probably figured out what happened next. Right? The check comes to me and the amount is in Hungarian Forits that seems a little high. Well, short story long, if I'd have bought the same drinks and tiny cakes at the most expensive restaurant in the world the check would have been about $50 US. Not in this little Hungarian restaurant though, in this place this stupid American was looking at a check for $450 US!!!! The whole thing was a setup. The girls were shills and in on it, which of course they denied, and I had been scammed. Naturally, I went crazy and then I was quickly surrounded by very large men, blocking me from every direction. I was screwed and offered to pay by credit card just to learn my lesson and get out of there, but they wouldn't take a credit card. So, I opened up my wallet. Showed them all I had was $220 US, which they took and then let me leave. It was a very tense moment. Anger and emotions were boiling in me. I wanted to fight, call the cops, run, escape somehow, but coolness prevailed and I didn't want to spend my time in Budapest in a hospital or a jail. I had a porno video to make.
The second scam I avoided revolved around a gang of three guys trying to con me and steal my passport. I've already written too much, so I won't go into the details, but let me suggest to NEVER carry your "real" passport. Make a color copy and carry that with you. Leave your "real" one in your hotel room. These guys presented themselves as police and asked to see my passport. I gave them my paper copy, I'm sure if it had been the real one, they would have run like the wind.
As for places to go, I don't know. I was there shooting my first porno and had a great time doing that. I didn't go out to any clubs at night.
However, if you can get to Prague, that place is outstanding. You'll want to stay in the brothels in Prague, forever . My favorite was "Hawaiian Theme" room at the Club Lotos.
You'll have fun.

Re: Budapest vacation: Where to go??
What you said about the bar in vaci utca is true but it's same in Pigalle in Paris !!!
I believe any clever man will never follow two pretty girls coming directly to you with a large smile and propose to take a drink. Myself at 16 years old I got such kind of opportunity and denied it ... So be just smart, anywhere on earth are some tourist trap !!!
About men trying to stole your passport, I'm more suspicious because the city is full of camera everywhere and it's difficult to agress somebody in the street ... Prague street are less secure than Budapest streets !!!

Sad for you but seriously, I've seen this scam told word for word about a million times. It's like, the con men in Budapest only have ONE scam !?DysfunctionalED wrote:It's a great place to visit but beware of the the street scams. You would really expect that strangers get it by now.

I already heard about other people I know who felt in the same cheating but in their story women who invited them to bar went to the toilet and then disappeared.
I wonder if it is possible to go to police and tell about the threats and the scam, but I suppose in those countries police is quite corrupt and doesn't give a fuck about strangers
Re: Budapest vacation: Where to go??
Ok, don`t be stupid.
I kind of knew about this phenomenon called "exploitions of the naive tourist".
And a beautiful woman is an effective bait indeed...
I have though about doing a porno, but thats not something i just happen to do like bringing slippers to the beach. You need to meet the right persons.
Anywayz, who knows. Maybe a nice Hungarian girl finds a viking from Norway interesting without going throgh porn? Maybe i`m naive now, but no matter what you do you got to trust the mojo right?
