Ukraine had to stay neutral, always, never to join the EU or NATO, that was the condition of its independence. But Ukraine started to oppress Russian groups in Ukraine, including in the Crimea (closing Russian speaking schools, closing the only Russian-speaking movie theatre in one of the Crimean cities (been there, seen it for myself), even though the Crimea has always been populated by Russians), and when the coup d'etat happened when the legitimate government was overthrown, the Crimea, being an autonomous republic, decided to abandon Ukraine and join Russia, which gladly accepted it, and for 8 years the Ukrainian government started attacking Donetsk and Luhansk, killing innocent and young people, and making the life on the Crimea worse (like building a dam to stop the river flow to the peninsula (been there, seen it)). For 8 years Russia has been trying to get Ukraine to follow the Minsk agreement, but when Angela Merkel said they never intended to follow them in the first place and they only used that time to weaponize Ukraine, and when Zelenskyy suggested to drop a nuclear bomb on Russian territory, well, the President the special military operation, and if you think the decision was unfounded, then you're delusional. If you think Ukraine, or more precisely the Ukrainian government is innocent in that regard, you're delusional. And calling Putin a dictator, I guess you've been good at school since you don't seem to know what dictatorship means. As for murderous, why don't you judge Israel government? Because they seem to have almost completely obliterated the Gaza Strip and killed a lot of people, and the US has killed and tortured a lot of people when they were involved with no regard for the consequences, while Russia hasn't done anything nearly closely to the above-mentioned damage.
