I am happy I made you smile. Actually the issue with rockets is the time from launch to impact on the target . Besides the fact that there is not even 500 miles separating Alaska from Kamchatka it is ironic that a president who likes to brag that his rockets can hit any target across the world flying at supersonic speed is worried that there would be rockets next to his border.
Since decennia the whole world has already virtually rockets at their borders since Russian, American, Chinese etc rockets can hit worldwide coming from their home country and or sea.
Imagine if Hungary would decide to leave the EU and later wants to join the CSTO. Will Putin then accept that the NATO does not want rockets at their border and will the “West” than also accept it is up to the concerned country to decide?

Make that Canada instead of Hungary in your example. In my view Putin would be fully aware that moving troops close to the US border would mean trouble, even with the full agreement of Canada for example.
So Biden got exactly what could be expected when kind of "encouraging" the Ukraine to move closer to the EU and NATO.

Bush pushed really hard for Ukraine and Georgia to be Nato members back in 2008. Thats when there was an agreement on future membership . Russia took Crimea in 2014. Russian agression has kept ut under Obama and Trump
