Despite the problems with his love life, I do believe that congratulations are in order for France's sense of diplomacy. To celebrate the 70th anniversary of D-Day, the government is hosting a state dinner for all the allied heads of state involved in the war. It could end up like having two crazy in-laws, who hate each other, invited for a family reunion. So wisely, France is having one state dinner with Obama, and another state dinner with Putin. I wish I could go to both, and get 2 desserts. I hear that the French are famous for their desserts.
