I am surprised that someone in Europe would use the term "cracker". That is a racist word used by African Americans in America to describe white people. It is telling me that as a European, he has poor language skills.

Maybe because for Europeans a "crackers" is a baked food typically made from flour that we call in France "biscuit".
Or also it's a guy who can break software codes.
I don't think many people in Europe know about what you said, I did not myself !!!

It is interesting how words have different meanings in different countries. In America we eat crackers all the time. Saltine and Ritz crackers are eaten by the millions. They are very thin and salty. Biscuits are thicker, but like crackers are dry and crunchy.
Someone who can break into a computer is called a "Hacker".
Someone who can break into a safe is called a "safe cracker".
