I often read your forum, but almost no writing, I really like the concept of your communication with fan. I work as cameraman for TV, participated in the filming movies, music videos as Director of photography, now mainly a music concentric. I watch a lot of porn production, in addition, it is interesting to me aesthetically-artistic component. In your shots, as the operator of that site - and I say, you are not bad in those conditions in which you have to shoot, you have a sense of composition, which is rare in this genre. 
As a professional in the porn industry, I would like to ask, how hard is it and what are the features of the operator in shooting porn? Are there any known operators who work in porn and who did you like to work ? Were there problems with the operators during the filming and how they were solved?

Well it's not a usual question and thanks for nice words !!!

At my begining I have used an operator from Reklam business who was shooting with the huge Betacam Sony 700 and later 900 till 1996 when after troubles in Egypt I decided to work by my own and carry the camera myself. Since that I never used a camera operator again.

Well depend of everyone mentality, some love that but many consider it a low level image and does not like this idea.

Are there any known operators who work in porn and who did you like to work ?

Well already most director from mainstream are unknow from public, so I don't think anyone know a single operator name. There was some famous film director like Francis Leroy who did porn. Actually Lars Von Tiers does also many porn part in his film.

Were there problems with the operators during the filming and how they were solved?

Not really any problem excepted sometime with me there was some very stressfull sitation like in Bali or Egypt when I was arrested and for him it was a nightmare to be in situation of death sentence in front of police officer. Out of this kind of precise bad moment, all was always great with him.

Pierre, thank you very much for reply! Working on TV and in the movies, I never was faced with operators who ever filmed porn, or they hide it I don't think shooting porn is a low level professional. Actually the porn industry now have a high competition and a pretty picture will always be in winning ! Take for example projects nubilefilm or sexart – there is a very beautiful picture and seen the work of Director and cameraman Director!

I remember years ago when the Screen Actors Guild in Hollywood went on strike.
Those working behind the camera were not on strike. Like most people in Hollywood, they had a mortgage to pay, and many other bills to keep up their life style.
So they found work in the porn industry in Simi Valley. The porn producers were very happy. They just let these experts take over the shooting. The quality of lighting, camera angles and editing were noticably better. They used pseudonums for their names on the screen credits. When the strike was over, they went back to their old jobs. But the porn movies that they made were outstanding.

Mr. Frank Thring as I know was also working in the commerical field, besides his
job as director of porn clips.
