Any news on the Baby-Jane video? Maybe post it in a lower resolution if it fails to work with the large file?

Those initiations in HD are my nightmare !!! I will give up if it continued and will go down with the quality because it's really difficult !
Baby Jane has been reduced again but still do 2 GB, I hope you'll have it tomorrow evening !

No Pierre... do not stop uploading HD videos. The quality is amazing. I have the feeling of being in the room when I see them.
Where are you having problems? With the compression? While uploading? Maybe if you post your problem one technical experienced user might be able to assist you.

If i can give you my opinion Pierre, as i produced some movies and dvds during 2 years...
You must clearly do a choice between the dvd (high quality files) and video for the web. It's clearly not the same support.
I mean if you're working for a support called "internet", you can't do what you want ! As you imagine, a lot of people can't download because of bandwich. Even if you have a DSL connection, that's not mean that you can watch stream at 600kb/s.
It's clear : it's stupid to produce 2,00 Gb files for 50min/1h of video FOR THE WEB. It's far too heavy !!! I'm not saying that web users don't want quality work but there are some amazing solutions to offer videos of high-quality and the files won't be so heavy. First : work on your video size, 640x480 is far enough (what do you want more) then on exportation format (mpeg4 is nice for the web).

You have the same pb with the PRINT business and the WEB : you can't edit images for printing with a resolution of 72 dpi as the minimum standard resolution is 300 dpi ; it's like uploading 70Mo pictures for the web.
EACH SUPPORT HAS HIS RULES. Some people called as "experts" think they know what they do but their work is bullshit because simply not adapted with the format.

En clair Pierre, fait un choix rapidos entre la haute qualité et - donc la distribution DVD - et le web. On peut pas tour mélanger et faire du n'importe quoi. Faut faire les choses simples pour que tout le monde soit d'accord : des fichiers légers encodés en peg4 dont la qualité est nickelle. Déjà tu gagneras un temps fou au miveau de l'édition et surtout au niveau de l'upload ! Point barre. Le net et surtout ta clientèle ne demande sûrement pas des fichiers de 2 Go. Encore une fois, faut pas mélanger tous les supports de diffusion.

1080p might be too much, maybe if you compress it at 720p might me enough. But one thing that differentiate yourself from the competition among other things are the high quality videos. Have you taught Pierre in alternative solutions such a symmetric high speed connection at home and having a private membership-only bittorrent tracker? I think there are other alternatives beside just degrading the quality of the videos.

I agree, watch the Baby Jane video, which has been "degraded" and tell me ! I think that the quality is still very good...
