I got my new baby shooting 8K !!!

Just a sample sadly streamed in HD...



but original resolution is 7680 X 4320 and it's a simple 10 s video in 30p but I will do other things in 60 p tomorrow but my actual problem is 1 minute in High Resolution Raw 12bit 8K 60p = 48,5 GB which means nearly 3 Tera by hour !!!


My Apple display is "only" in 6K but if you double click on this screen capture you have an idea of 75 % of the true resolution !!!

At the moment is also difficult to find photos in 8k resolution, but you're already planning to create videos in that resolution

Sir pierre, kat squirt video is so good at 4k 50fps but 4k 60fps would have been much better. you could use h265 to save 50% space. in future i hope i can work with you, i can come to paris and help you because i have really fast computer for h265.

There is no difference of quality picture between 60p and 50p ...
There is only 12 % extrat quality in the movement of the camera but this is something you don't see on a computer, only on a TV once it's broadcasted by a cable program, then you just have a little more fluidity ( and a lot more from a 25p to a 50 P ) difference.
On a video like Kat Squirt the H265 export on 2h20 mn with 30 000 Mps = more than a week to be exported with the best actual machines ... but H264 takes 2 hours with my newest MacBookPro.



H264 is better in term of video details than H265 lighter yes but with less information in the picture.
I am more focus in future on Webm /VP9 which are the next step in my opinion ... ( AV1 is good but don't work on MAC )
Also million people can't read the H265 actually ... so it's not tomorrow that I will export my videos in H265 or maybe at the end of the year if the Mac Studio I have ordered brings me all I expect !!!

sir macbook m1 max is 3.2 GHz, my computer is intel 5ghz and i use handbrake. you can compress 30gb h264 file to 15gb h265 and retain 100% quality. one day i would like to visit paris and help you with your work.

Sorry I disagree with all this. Time is soooo important for me and I did a lot of test with friends having PC, Premiere pro, Da Vinci etc. unable to beat my simple new MacBookpro customised to highest level.
If I can agree that Premiere is still better than FCPX I can't agree about the power of the Intel Core i9-9900K PC at 5ghz even in the 12900 customised version.

but the problem these guys doing test NEVER use a full customised version because for instance mine cost 8000 euros ...


but this is what I have and it's great, specialy with a 4K resolution in a laptop but soon my Mac Studio will be much stronger.
A basic non customised version can handle 15 videos 8K at the same time without any lag ... so I can't imagine how strong is the top version !!!
You must also understand I am not exporting a simple file in 4K because if it's just this I was asking it take me half the original time, but a time line with 2 camera, a logo moving, chroma corrections etc ... it's not the same world !!!

pierre can i ask why you use macbook pro and not some ohter brand laptop what also has dedicated gpu?

Because I am someone ULTRA PICKY in term of technology. I can pass hours and hours to try products in shop, reading test on internet, listening tutorial etc ... and then I make a decision.

Apple is 100 times easier to work with than all PC systems. It's true on some part like accelation card for instance they are less powerfull but it's something important for internet game players but when it comes to serious job and solidity of material, Apple erase all.

I have still in my home and I use still my old 30 inches display from ... 2003 and no one pixel is missing on the screen.
It's in 2K and far from the level of my 32 inches pro display 6K but anyway, it works with a MacPro from 2006 still perfect also and another from 2011 ( I changed once the mother card on the 2006 model but the 2011 model is same has I bought it for 14 000 euros in 2011 with full customised as I do for all my products )

My new MacBookpro 16 inches is just magic, hyper strong, almost 4K screen ( 3456 × 2234) ) and I can go on the beach and edit 4K videos for more than 6 hours or do just internet for 10 hours with the battery. But he is a little bit heavier than my 2020 version which is not a big problem, because also absolutely silencious and never burning my legs when I do my post prod.

So yes, for me all is a question of feeling, like with the girls !!!
