hi pierre,

please don't be offended by this but what would your reaction be if your daughter, when she turned 18, decided to become a porn actress?

Actually, there was a Hollywood movie realeased in 2000 based on this subject. It starred Mena Suvari as the daughter of a porn mogul. Her father was a hypocrite, not allowing her daughter to have sex. As a rebellious teenager, she goes on a talk show and announces that she will lose her virginity, live, on a pay-per-view cable tv show. The cable tv show is run by a former employee of her father, who quit his job and started his own porn video studio as a competitor. He also "stole" his wife. So they are bitter rivals. To add more to the mix, the girl has an ex-boyfriend who still loves her and does not want her to go through with it. :P
So, with all the plots and sub-plots it sounds like a great drama. But it isn't. Hollywood is afraid to make a controviserial film about sex like this. So they wrote the script as a comedy and a farce. But there are few good laughs. It is rated R, to get people into the movie, thinking it is about sex. But there is no sex. It is rated R, because of all the obscenities that the characters scream at each other. I read several reviews and decided it was a waste of money to see it.

The same question to the priest: what if his daughter (most likely illegitimate) chooses to be a nun?

To many maybe being a porn star is not the most decent job in the world, but to many it's a better career choice than being a salesgirl or an office clerk. So show some respect.
