The most visited country in the world by tourists is still France. However it must be for the country/cities and not the French people. Like most tourists I find them arrogant, unfriendly and not hospitale. They refuse to even speak one word English and are so full of themselves they think they run the world.

Sorry Pierre, but after lots of visits to France, this is the remaining impression. The Germans and the British are friendlier and more welcoming for tourists visiting their country.

I am French and have sometimes the same feeling. But maybe you didn't go to France but only went to Paris where it's a lot different!
By the way, not speaking english is not really something you can reproach... Everybody doesn't have to speak the language you speak.

Anyway, I just can't understand why this topic on this forum

France ? Which France ? It was in the past, today it's "FRANKISTAN" as many people says and I agree with you it's not a friendly country anymore, reason why I prefer live mostly somewhere else ...

Well, it's a general forum and it's nice to talk about non porn related for a time.

Yes Pierre, this is happening to more West European countries esp. the big cities. When you walk around in London, Paris. Berlin or cities in my country like Amsterdam and Rotterdam I have more the feeling I am in Morocco, Turkey or Pakistan

A handful of dickheads hanging in the street can ruin the day of hundreds of people passing by, insulting them and showing bad behaviour to women, stealing your belgongings of just showing some incivility.

When you go in the city, especialy at night time, you only meet drunks and/or hoodies and scumbags in the street. You dont meet the nice art student or the cultivated movie or music fan who has better to do of his/her life than pissing people off and hanging in the cities where there is a feeling of insecurity (because of the scumbags i talk about).

So yeah, you see a lot of arabic people, and most of them are assholes. But thats just because there is only them to see. Me, or my friends, we are, i believe, rather cool folks, we like to meet nice people, talking about art and stuff we love. But there is little chance a foreigner could ever meet us, or people like us. Why ? Because we dont hang around in cities anymore because of morons who try to cope with their miserable life by annoying others in the streets.

There is a lot of nice people too, its just that it take a few rotten fruits to ruin the whole basket.

Wanna know what France is realy about ? Stay away from big cities and go visit small villages and countryside, and go to museums or artistic places.

Well, i am just surprised that a minority of assholes is considered like the majority.They might have some french people that are troublemakers but there are lots of nice , helpful and friendy french people. Lots of french people are honest people and work hard but in our country , most of the people are disillusionned about France is governed by our dear politicians since decades;We are not a joyful people all the times as well

About France , one can't make a generalization because you met some men or women who didn't seem nice to you .It happens in every countries all around the world even in Germany , netherLand , Hungary ..;so on

About english , you should know that in France , they don't teach us english quite correctly .A good part of french learn or improve their english by going to live or work abroad or just have some friendship with foreigners but even if we are not all good in languages .We make effort to learn english

The funniest thing is to say french from arabic ethnicity are bad people or wanna do the mess in France. Well , as i said above it's just a minority of people that behaves like morons.A majority of them do their job , behave well, pay their tax and don't annoy other people. Even other french from arabic ethincity hates the behaviour of these troublemakers and think they harm them

Of course it is a bit of a generalisation, but what matters is the impression that most tourists get when they visit France. Of course most people visit Paris, which is indeed a bit different than the rest of France. However the impression remains that French people are mostly interested in themselves and don't treat their visitors like for example the Americans do where hospitality is of utmost importance.

Maybe it's a cultural thing or because of the economic crisis, but I hope it will change for the sake of France itself.

On the topic of the English language, I hope the education system in France will be enhanced so people there will better speak/understand it. I understand the language sensitivity of the French since they are very proud of the French language (which is indeed a beautiful language), but the reality is that English is the international language of the world and therefore important for communication with the non-French speaking people.

I think it's a mixte of everything ( insecurity growing up, tax growing up, agressivity growing up, lack of education growing up, missing of jobs growing up etc ... ) who makes all fucked up in France and most country around !!!

Why "sorry Pierre"? Pierre is Pierre and John is John. Nobody is responsible for the bad behaviours of his compatriots, co-religionists or whatever.
