a) when selling VHS and DVD's and also customer renting these products
or
b) when websites went online and people plugged in their credit card details and videos were less sold as physical items.....

The golden times for producing pornos was in mid 1970s, when they produced porn on 16 or 35mm negativ material.
After the mid 1980 when home-Video started the peak raised down.
