Yes, your description is absolutely accurate. In Russia, New Year (December 31 – January 1) is the main celebration, it’s about being with friends, having fun together, fireworks, parties, gifts, making wishes, and a very festive, joyful atmosphere.

New Year in Russia feels quite similar to how Christmas is celebrated in European countries and un the US - social, lively, and centred around togetherness and celebration.

Orthodox Christmas (January 7) is much quieter and more intimate. It’s usually spent at home, in a small circle of close family, with a calmer, more reflective mood rather than big celebrations.

And your last question was:

Thanks for asking in such a respectful way. Yes, everything is great.

After that trip, I initiated a few changes in my life. It’s not that the experience created something new from nothing — those ideas and plans were already inside me — but it helped me feel more confident powerful and clear about what I want and need in life

So glad this experience helped you look at things from a wider perspective. I do know that it takes real openness and courage to question old beliefs and allow yourself to see things differently.
And believe me this experience has broadened my horizons too, it gave me new insights and knowledge about myself, others, and how diverse human experience really can be.
