Good to hear that! I was just about to ask the same question. But i think, it will take another few years until these new 4K-Televisions and computer-screens and displays have been re-equiped to the new upcoming 4K-Standard. I guess, these 4K-video-files are going to be huge so very fast internet-connection is important too.PIERRE WOODMAN wrote:Funny you tell this, I just tried the new Sony before taking holidays and there are many chance I will do all in 4K soon !!! But anyway, it´s absolutely useful and rational, to shoot 4K as soon as possible, so that we can enjoy PW-Castings in 4K someday, maybe 2015, 2016 or 2017 ...

Re: 4K
Somebody know, how much harddrive-space is needed for a scene of 30 Minutes in 4K approximately? I have read, a film of 180 minutes will take about 10 terabyte, but i´m not sure about this information. If it´s true, not even a blue-ray-disc could take that much data. And even with a fast 50-MBit/s-Internet-connection it would takes a very long time to download such ultra-high-resolution-porn files in 4K?
Nevertheless, it´s good to shoot in 4K, there we be a solution afterwards, how to get the movies to the fans ... i´m dreaiming about a "Cayenne Klein - Hard Bed + 5 WUNF-Scene" in 4K ...

Re: 4K
Klausmueller, I think you are talking about uncompressed data.
Pierre currently shoots in 1080p but the movies are then compressed before being offered for download. In order for Gina Gerson's clip of 3.5 hours to be available in a 16GB file it has been compressed a lot.
If you are seeking better resolution clips I suggest first buying some Woodman Bluray (if they are available - Pierre?) You will see a big difference in quality.
Here is some interesting reading about 4K: http://www.techradar.com/news/home-cine ... tv-1048954
"Hang on, what about 8K?
If 4K offers four times the resolution of Full HD, then 8K will deliver 16 times the definition. 8K screens comprise a staggering 33 million pixels. This is an order of magnitude beyond any display technology currently available, and only one broadcaster, Japanese state owned NHK, has publically said it intends to commercialise the technology. NHK has since pledged to shoot and transmit the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the format."
Pierre - as an amateur cameraman I would enjoy threads / topics on the equipment you are using, testing, reviewing etc. I know you already have no time, but a quick word maybe when/why you get a new camera would be fantastic!

If there was only nice people to read this forum, then yes, but unfortunately not ...
Never any of my work as been made in Bluray and the only 3 productions I did in HD format ( Sex City, Xcalibur et perfectionnist ) have been sale in DV format.I suggest first buying some Woodman Bluray (if they are available - Pierre?)
It has made me so angry at this time but so happy now because then I can give it to my members in HD on https://www.woodmanfilms.com/
