Slovakia is about half the population of Hungary and CR and is sandwiched between the two countries (just hours to Budapest or Prague), but why aren't there half as many Slovakian girls in the industry? I know some Slovakian girls are listed as Czech (e.g. Anita Queen), but I really appreciate the accuracy of info. I really don't think Slovakians are more religious than Hungarians, at least not the young.

You can probably write a book about this and there have been similar discussions in this board before. The more time I spend in those 3 countries the more it is clear that there are certain historical and cultural reasons, why Hungary and Czech republic are the power houses of European porn and Slovakia not.

Religion and tolerance plays a major role. Czech republic is the most secular state in the world. Slovakia is very catholic (not to the level of Poland, but way more than your average and on par with Latin America). Hungary is a cultural mix, they have everything there, Catholics, Jews, Protestant,etc. Their society has been historically very open and tolerant to "other ways of living". Czech republic used to be very open to until the republic of Masaryk, a society where you could speak during the day Hungarian. German and Czech at work, home and school. Later with the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans they sort of cleansed their society. Slovakia has never been tolerant, they always were mostly peasants and a relatively closed society, until now they have huge difficulties accepting their Hungarian minority.

Economics... Slovakia has been a success story, only during the 90s they had plenty of trouble, but there are opportunities and the way of life has been continuously improving for years. It is the tiger of Europe. Their situation is very stable and prosperous. On the other hand, in Hungary there is a feeling of despair. Things have only gotten worse, there are no jobs, they have had only very bad governments in the last decades and they are still traumatized with the treaty of Trianon. People in general have a very negative outlook of their country. Most importantly, there are barely no good jobs in Hungary. Czech republic has always been prosperous and there have never really been a lack of jobs or opportunities. Nowadays it has stagnated, but it is still quite good.

Mentality: Slovaks are not proud of their country, they usually do not like to stay there and move abroad for life. Prague's biggest minority are Slovaks. If they are unhappy or want opportunities they simply pack their stuff and move with their boyfriend/girlfriend abroad. On the other hand, both czechs and Hungarians are very proud of their history and heritage. They might move short term abroad but for them there is only one home. Hence, they have a bigger pressure to find a job at home compared to Slovaks. On top of that, Slovaks marry much younger than Czechs and Hungarians. As they leave home sooner, they move earlier with their other half and marry sooner.

Promiscuity: Czechs are much more promiscuous than Slovaks. For them it is accepted to have something on the side (both men and women). Most of the time both parties know that they are being cheated/are cheating and usually do not make a big fuss about it. I do not know how it is with Hungarians in this regard, but my experience is that they are a very permissive society.

It is true, some girls are listed as Czechs even if they are Slovaks, but it is quite easy to recognize the Slovak face and to differentiate between both languages while listening even if you do not know how to speak them.

This are just some points to show, that there is a fertile ground for pornography in both Czech republic and Hungary but not really in Slovakia. This is not to say that there is no porn in Slovakia, but compared with the size of the industry in cz or hu is neglible. Besides, any Slovak girl who wants to do porn just has to cross the border to Brno and she can start working immediately.

Does anyone know why porn production is illegal in Bulgaria? It's the only non-CIS country in Eastern Europe that isn't particularly religious yet has the feeling of economic despair that can be alleviated by girls getting their holes filled to pay for tuition.

I read today that Eastern Europe has had record breaking cold weather over the past few days. -29 in some places, which is crazy cold, for a place that recieves so much sunshire during the summer months. They've got it extreme.
