To denounce a son of the bitch who did denounce many innocents people is just a backlash.

Ok some women were rapped by some GI's but those who were found guilty went to prison or executed (especially is they were Blacks). All the armies in the world do the same.

Arletti went to jail for having been with a German officer. I love her sentence after the judgement :

Sure, except this sort of romantic revenge statement is very far from the truth. France's liberation served as an excuse in many situations to solve conflicts that had nothing to do with war or denounciations. If you were a communist thug, you just had to point at someone for him/her to be executed/humiliated. No trial, no justice, and of course the ones who truly did bad things in war time never had any problem.

Read "Uranus" by Marcel Aymé, I think it's one of the best books on the topic, and it's not judgemental. In times of war there's no good or bad guys.

It is always the same thing. After war, time to cleaning and not only the "collabo" are in trouble, you're right !!!

I saw the film Uranus and I really did like it.

I do not agree with you when you say "In times of war there's no good or bad guys".
A German man in the German army is not a good guy nor a bad guy, it is just a guy who serve his country.
A French guy who denounce other French is a bad guy.
