Glad to see you staying hard at work. My name is Richard and I met you years ago very briefly once outside The Venetian/AVN in Las Vegas. You were getting your suitcases out of a car in front of the hotel, preparing to check-in, and when I saw you and you realized that I recognized you, you were extremely kind. You greeted me like a gentleman and we shared a brief talk. I had hoped to see you on the convention floor to talk more, but we never got the chance to bump into one another again. This is my first post and I guess I'm here to discover what you're up to, what is happening in Europe, and maybe learn a little French.

I've worked in the Adult Industry here in LA off and on since 1995. I've done some writing and directing, a little producing, a lot of shooting and editing, and a few failed attempts at performing. I was once introduced to one of your countryman, Christophe Clark, who brought me to Budapest where I shot and edited a Back Stage for a video called, Obsession. In the recent past, besides some camera work, I was editing for Evil Angel on some of their Buttman Magazine lines (Roman Video and Jazz Duro).

I just wanted to introduce myself and say hello, and I will try and not bore you with too many questions about your work and life. Best, R.Banks

Never had the opportunity to visit the AVN Expo in Vegas.
Heard it's great place with boobie noobs and tonyflakes.

Well, I haven't been there again since 2008 because last one was a shit compared to what I have seen in the past !!!

It might have been 2008...but I think it was earlier. I think my last was 2008, give or take a year. It was a slightly a surreal experience meeting you, partly because of how instantly friendly you were when you noticed I recognized you and partly because of what had occurred moments before.

Just before I met you, I was in the hotel across the street where a webmaster friend was introducing me to a pornstar and her husband, both extremely nice and positive people. I can't remember her name...kind of big star at time with New Sensations, beautiful blond, great body, gorgeous Californian face. I'll try and remember her name.... We had just smoked a portion of weed and drank a beer in preparation for the nights recreational events, and in a moment of enjoying each others company and hopeful future business relationship, Cloe (I think that was her first name) dropped her shirt and bra and asked me what I thought of her new breast job. It in fact was NOT good, with one breast drastically out of proportion with the other and an overall unnatural look. I'm a honest person, to a psychopathic level, but lied badly and told her they looked great. I hated myself for lying to such a nice person. She had two sweet kids with her cool husband and very regretfully died soon thereafter of a cancer of some sort. Life is surreal.

Thanks much for the welcome and positive comments, french22 and maxxx. And ephrem - the AVN is nothing like what I experienced in Berlin. Monsieur Clark graciously took me along with him to the Expo there after Obsession wrapped, and while it was smaller than some of the AVN's that I've been to, it was much more sexy in every sense of the word. The AVN got more politically correct as it got bigger and more mainstream.

Thanks Pierre, the way the small world works we most likely will bump into each other again. I definitely will return to Europe (my sister lives 25 minutes north of Cannes and I have relatives in Switzerland) and am even considering transplanting my whole family there in the future. I have an 8 year old who I'm feeling may have a better future somewhere else. Big decision to make. My sister is extremely happy where she is and talks forever about the pluses of France. Truth is, she's lonely and wants us to move there with her.

Can I ask you seriously Pierre (or anyone with the knowledge), what European country is best for working in adult? I spent a month in Praha shooting once and thought it was the most incredible city, and women, I'd ever seen, though a little depressed financially. Budapest was also amazing. And though I was there the least amount of time, I almost liked Berlin's energy the best of the three.... Now granted, I may move there and not shoot porn and steer towards finding a job on film crews (my Hollywood day job) or...do something completely different to survive. So, what do you think may be the best all around European city to make porn and/or work as a crew member (lighting, editing, shooting) on mainstream films? Thanks for any thoughts on this matter!
